About Ix

We are building memory for codebases.

Ix exists because understanding a software system is still far too manual. Engineers, agents, and teams repeatedly reconstruct the same architecture from scratch. We think codebases should be queryable systems with durable memory, not puzzles you have to solve again every session.

01
Principle

Persistent memory over repeated rediscovery

Software teams and coding agents waste enormous time rebuilding context that should already exist. Ix turns codebase structure into memory you can query instead of rediscovering on every task.

02
Principle

Structure over guesswork

Ix is grounded in real entities and relationships extracted from your code. The goal is not vibes or approximate relevance, but concrete answers about what exists, what connects, and what changes affect.

03
Principle

Local-first engineering intelligence

Your code should stay yours. Ix is designed to run on your machine and fit into existing developer workflows through the CLI, APIs, and agent integrations.

What Ix Is For

Faster onboarding, safer changes, better agents

Ix helps people and tools answer practical questions: What does this system do? What depends on this function? What breaks if we change it? Where are the hotspots? Our bet is that durable structural memory will become a core layer in modern software development, especially as agents take on more engineering work.
